What it is
sudoku is a kid-safe set of soduku variations designed
as a fun way to review and memorize words, pictures and chemical formulae.
This is a collection of ideas of how a sudoku game could be used in learning. It might be useful.
Teachers with more ideas or needs should email me and I'll see what we can put together.
There are several sudoku variants in this application. Instead of matching the numbers 1-9, as is done in traditional sudoku, this application has different related values in each set. One set might have numbers 1-9, the other set will have French words un-neuf, or Mandarin symbols for the numbers.
There is a set of games with common words like dog, cat, truck in French, German and Spanish.
There are two sets of games for chemists. One shows an element's symbol (H, He, etc), the element's name (Hydrogen, Helium, etc) and the atomic structure.
How To Run
- Download the appropriate file for your system.
- Put it onto a desktop.
- Perhaps uncompress it, depending on what your browser does for you.
- On a *ix system, you may need to set the executable bits. (
chmod +x holiday2013) - Run it.
